Of the many achievements humanity celebrates, the one with probably the deepest impact is our endeavor in understanding the universe we live in. This understanding, obtained from the pursuit of logic, science and mathematics has enabled us to see the inner working of the universe. It has shown how small we are, and yet how big we have grown. It helps us connect with nature and overcome the fear of the unknown. We respect, acknowledge and celebrate this at the Indian Institute of Science everyday. The Department of Instrumentation and Applied Physics, IISc is gearing up for its annual Open Day scheduled for this Saturday, aiming to provide the public with an inside look at its ongoing research endeavors of the department.

This event has been a significant platform for students, science and technology enthusiasts, and the general public to explore our department and gain insight into the diverse research projects undertaken by the researchers across various domains.

The Open Day will feature an array of activities including hands-on experimental demonstrations, engaging poster presentations, and exhibitions!!

The open day resembles a festival for science enthusiasts. However, in my capacity as the wellness coordinator of the department, I perceive it as an occasion that fosters unity and motivates them to think beyond themselves, working towards the greater purpose of making science accessible to the public, particularly students, thereby inspiring and guiding the future of our country.
